Judge Rules Tekashi 6ix9ine Has Been Sentenced To Two Years In Prison
A judge has ruled that Tekashi 6ix9ine, real name Daniel Hernandez, ‘will not be going free today’ and has been sentenced to 24 months in prison, with five years of supervised release.
Throughout the hearing, Hernandez told the court that he wanted to show young people they can reform after being caught up in gang crime.
The rapper was also hoping that his testimony against others might allow him to receive a shorter sentence, although he was previously facing a minimum of 47 years behind bars with the possibility of a life sentence.
Since becoming a star witness for the US government, his chances of getting a more lenient sentence were said to have improved.
Hernandez hoped to get a 5K1 letter from the US Attorney, which would allow the judge to consider and review the information provided and go underneath the mandatory minimum sentence, potentially even to time served.
After pleading not guilty to the charges at first, he entered a plea bargain that was the start of his giving evidence to the government.Follow me on
